Casey & Scott | 7.10.21

I already knew I liked Casey & Scott from our many conversations leading up to their wedding. As they were planning the day of their dreams all the way from Colorado, I was thrilled to finally get to meet them in person on their wedding day. When there were hugs all around, as well as full on puppy love from their husky’s Freya and Saphira, I knew I had friends for life.

After a fun filled morning getting glam at Back Bay Salon with her bridesmaids, Casey claimed the main level of the house as she got ready for the big day. I arrived to find the girls in matching robes, laughing like only true friends can, while Jamie from Jamie Childs Photography snapped some getting ready photos. The men (and dogs!) had taken over the basement and were a flurry of activity and movement has they donned their suits and got their boutonnieres in place. Mid-afternoon, Casey and Scott shared their first look in a private moment in the backyard. After the tears were dried, the two were joined by their bridal party for formal portraits before they all hopped into cars (and one golf cart!) to travel down the road to the lake for the ceremony. Once guests were seated, they had an amazing view of the sun glinting off the lake and blue skies overhead. As the bridal party made their way down the aisle to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by The Piano Guys, everyone was craning their necks and on their feet waiting for Casey to start her walk. Looking lovely in her strapless satin dress, Casey, escorted by her parents Mark and Julie, made her way towards a smiling Scott. Officiated by Scott’s brother Greg, the ceremony was packed with personal stories and full of laughter and applause. Sealed with a kiss, the ceremony wrapped up and guests made their way back to the tent while the bridal party took advantage of the pretty day and took photos down by the lake.

During cocktail hour, everyone noshed on appetizers from The Common Man and were treated to drinks, a smile, and a story courtesy of Flynn from Silver Tie Servers who manned the bar. Guests got competitive as they enjoyed a game of corn hole and ladder ball, and snapped photo after photo for the guest book. I loved watching guests reactions as they found their table assignments. In by far the most creative seating chart I’ve ever seen, guests found their table by locating a picture of themselves (often with the bride or groom!) hanging from a frame. It was so personal, and a huge hit with Casey and Scott’s family and friends.

The evening portion kicked off as Casey and Scott shared their first dance, followed by Casey’s Dad Mark taking the microphone for a welcome toast. He shared many stories about Casey growing up and her ability to excel in anything she put her mind to. But my favorite part was when he said that when he found out he was having a daughter, he had to go buy a gun!! LOL

During the main course, guests were full of laughter as they listened to toasts from Maid of Honor, Allison and Best Man, Kyle. After cutting their very pretty looking cake from From Scratch Baking Co., emotions were on display as Casey and Scott shared special dances with their parents.

With the formalities over, it was time to party! DJ Dave from DJ Entertainment ensured the dance floor was alive all night by playing a variety of songs that appealed to everyone. Guests only stopped to grab dessert set out by The Common Man team or to sneak into the backyard for photos with the setting sun. From their smiling faces to their moves on the dance floor, Casey and Scott radiated happiness and love throughout their celebration. This was one for the memory books!

Casey & Scott – I was honored to have been a part of your day. I hope all your future adventures will be filled with as much laughter, love and of course, puppy kisses! xo
