On a sunny, clear day in October, Johnna and Zach celebrated their love surrounded by friends and family at Whiteface Hollow in Tamworth, NH.
To prepare for the big day, Johnna and her bridesmaids got ready in the pretty farmhouse onsite. They wore matching robes while the team from Renu Salon & Spa worked hair and makeup magic. Meanwhile, Zach and his groomsmen did the same In the Tasting Room – laughter could be heard as the men donned their suits and prepared for the day.
Mid-afternoon, Johnna stepped into her gorgeous gown, a stunning lace and tulle affair she found at Kleinfeld Bridal, and went to meet her groom. During the ‘no look first look’, Johnna and Zach held hands and talked about their day. My heart melted to see some of Johnna’s nerves melt away just being able to talk to her groom to be, and I had to wipe away a tear when she told him she was just glad he was there. The super special moment was captured by Kassia from Kassia Lee Photography and Katya from Doroga Media.
The ceremony started right on time and the mountains in the background offered guests an amazing view. With the sun shining and beautiful music from Lindsay & Jordan playing, Johnna, escorted by her father John, made her way down the aisle. Officiant Wayne Sevin made sure the ceremony was personal and heartfelt. He spoke of kindness being the most important part of love and incorporated the letters guests wrote to the happy couple that will be read on their first anniversary. Their personal vows were sealed with a kiss, and they headed off to start their forever to cheers and applause.
Guests enjoyed an outside cocktail hour and sipped on the signature drink ‘The Salem’ – a black magic margarita perfectly mixed by DeeLuxe Bartending. The guestbook, ‘My Adventure Book’ from the movie Up, was out for guests to sign and they picked up their seating assignments while they mingled. Meanwhile, the bride and groom took a few moments for some photos throughout the property. Prior to the reception starting, Johnna & Zach had their first look inside the barn and spent a few quiet moments together reflecting on the day so far. The centerpieces (florals from Branch & Bloom, lanterns and pumpkins atop wooden rounds) were a perfect match for the room and a stunning multi-tiered cake from E(at)xactly Cakes was on display.
DJ Mark from First Class Weddings got the crowd pumped up before introducing Johnna & Zach’s parents and the bridal party. When it came time for the bride and groom, guests were on their feet! Johnna & Zach shared their first dance to “The Book of Love” by Peter Gabriel before dinner was served. As guests finished their excellent meal courtesy of The Common Man, we were treated to heartfelt toasts from maid of honor Jen and best man John. It was clear from their words how loved Johnna & Zach are. Following emotional dances with their parents, DJ Mark officially got the party started and guests danced the night away in honor of the happy couple!
Johnna & Zach - As Wayne said, may your love get richer with every day. Wishing you lots of luck on your new adventure in RI! xo
