Kaitlyn & Dan | 10.10.20

I was in awe of Kaitlyn from the moment we started working together. She was one of the most organized brides I have ever met! Her detailed notes and the photos from her Pinterest board made my job easier as it was easy to see the vision and the look she was going for.

We couldn’t have asked for a prettier October day for Kaitlyn and Dan’s wedding. It was warm and sunny, the perfect day for a wedding with an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour.

When I arrived at noon, preparations were already under way. Family friend Karen and her son Ben were onsite laying out the beautiful centerpieces, draping greenery, and delivering other hand-created elements like the stunning floral piece they affixed to the arbor. Dan’s Aunt Ronna arrived shortly thereafter to set-up the most beautiful dessert display – a small cutting cake and various kinds of cupcakes that had my mouth watering!

The bride and groom spent the morning at the Chesterfield Inn getting ready (separately of course!). Photographer Scott of Scott Hussey Photography captured those fun moments, as well as a special first look between Kaitlyn and Dan before it was time to head down the street to Stonewall Farm. Kaitlyn and her bridal party arrived at in full glam squad mode thanks to Heavenly Hair Gallery Salon. One of the most special moments for me was watching her see the Grand Reception Room for the first time. I couldn’t have been happier to see Kaitlyn tear up (happy tears!) as her vision had come to life and her dream had become a reality.

During the beautiful late afternoon ceremony, the delicate arbor provided a pretty back drop to what was to be an emotional and personal ceremony officiated by friend Kyle. Kaitlyn & Dan had their first kiss as husband and wife while guests clapped and cheered them on. As the couple took full use of the beautiful property for more photos, guests were greeted with delicious food and beverages on the patio provided by The Porch Café & Catering and the wonderful staff at Stonewall Farm.

The reception began as everyone made their way into the Grand Reception Room. DJ Kris Kleine introduced the parents and bridal party, and then everyone was on their feet as the newlyweds made their grand entrance and shared a first dance together to Ruelle’s “I Get to Love You”. While guests enjoyed an amazing dinner, we heard toasts from Kaitlyn’s Dad Russ, best man Matt, and maid of honor Chelsea, which brought laughter and tears into the room. I love learning things I didn’t know before, like how close Kaitlyn and her sister Chelsea are – I hope you both continue sharing everything with each other.

Dinner was followed by Kaitlyn and Dan sharing touching dances with their parents and cutting their cake before heading to the dance floor where they got the party started! I loved watching Kaitlyn and Dan’s family and friends dance the night away – they certainly know how to have a good time and their love for the bride and groom was evident. Another highlight for me was during the bouquet toss and garter removal. Dan was in for quite the surprise when instead of the typical garter he removed a bottle of Smirnoff Ice! A tradition in their circle of friends, if you get ‘iced’ you have to chug the entire bottle then and there. Laughter and cheers rang out as Dan got on one knee and completed his task.

As the night went on, fabulous music by DJ Kris ensured the dance floor stayed packed, with guests only taking a break to refill their glass at the bar or enjoy dessert and hot apple cider. Kaitlyn, Dan and their guests made sure the celebration continued until the last song faded out. This night was without a doubt, one for the memory books!

Kaitlyn & Dan – It was truly my honor to be a part of your day. I hope you continue making each other laugh for a lifetime. xo
