Laura and Steve were one of the most down to earth couples I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. We first met a few months before their wedding and while I could tell they were slightly overwhelmed with all the last minute details, they were in tune with each other and what they wanted for their big day and I knew together we could make it fabulous!
Laura and Steve were planning an intimate day at Veasey Memorial Park in Groveland, MA with their closest family and friends. After watching their plans come together for the past few months, I was thrilled to get to see the space the Friday before their wedding. The venue was exactly as described on the website – ‘a hidden gem’. As I entered the reception space it was as if a team of wedding elves had descended on the space. Tables were adorned with olive linens and topped with fanciful trees draped with twinkle lights and leaves. The wooden table numbers added the perfect rustic touch to the space.
We all awoke on Saturday morning to sunny skies and temps in the mid-50’s – the perfect Fall day for a wedding! When I arrived mid-afternoon, Laura was about to put on her dress and looking beautiful courtesy of Krystal’s Kreations Hair Salon. Her dress from David’s Bridal was the perfect mix of sparkle and lace, and with her hair falling in loose waves down her back, Laura looked like perfection. Steve and his groomsmen were handsome in gray suits and were in great spirits as they waited for the festivities to start.
Buntha from Kouy Photography took full advantage of the beautiful afternoon while capturing Laura & Steve’s first look as well as some family photos prior to the ceremony. Guests began arriving around 4:00pm and got to enjoy a warm cup of hot cocoa as they took their seats to wait for the ceremony to begin. As the men took their places up front, Laura’s bridesmaids, looking stunning in rust colored dresses, made their way down the aisle. Flower girl Kyleigh got her moment as guests gushed over her adorable dress as she sprinkled petals in preparation for Laura’s walk. Officiated by friend Alex, the ceremony was full of love and personal moments. As Laura & Steve were pronounced husband and wife, applause rang out amongst the guests.
With a fire glowing in the hearth in the Veasey Living Room, cocktail hour had a lovely warm & cozy atmosphere. The team from Silver Tie Servers served up beverages as guests mingled and enjoyed each other’s company. After a few more formal photos, the bridal party joined cocktail hour and spent time laughing with their family & friends prior to everyone moving into the Great Hall for the reception. Guests found their seats from handwritten escort cards in the shape of a leaf that complimented the season perfectly!
Mark Simpson from New England’s DJ had the crowd on their feet for the bridal party introductions. After a touching first dance to “Wonderful One” by Jimmy Page & Robert Plant, it was time for dinner. Laura & Steve might have designed the best menu I’ve seen all year as guests got to enjoy a variety of mac & cheese from Mr. Macs and BBQ from Goody Coles. If guests needed a sweet treat, they had plenty to choose from. A beautiful dessert table with cupcakes from Sugar & Spice Bake Shoppe offered delicious options like peanut butter or Baileys, and if that didn’t suit, individual bags of apple cider donuts served as favors. As dinner wound down, Mark did what he does best and got the dance party started. It was evident Laura & Steve have an amazing group of family and friends that made their wedding day one for the record books!
Laura & Steve - my wish for you is that the way you look at each other – like there is nothing and no one else around – lasts a lifetime. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day. xo
Love & happiness captured by the talented Kouy Photography.
