I think it’s so important to get to know a couple for who they are in order to help make their wedding dreams come true. During my initial meeting with Lauren and Tim, I was so excited to hear about their recent trip to Costa Rica and all the adventures they had. So many couples get bogged down with wedding details and don’t take a minute to breathe as their wedding approaches, but not Lauren & Tim. They are down to earth, super friendly, and totally making the most out of life. #couplegoals for sure!
The evening of their rehearsal New England gifted us with a cold, damp night. When I arrived at Pierce House I was hoping everyone would be in good spirits despite the weather. And I found exactly that… family and friends with smiles on their faces (and some with drinks in their hands!) bustling around as they started on set-up. We got through the walk-through of the ceremony easily and with much laughter before the group departed for dinner in Concord, MA.
I was thrilled to wake up Friday morning and to see the forecast was spot on! It was sunny (not a cloud in the sky!) and mid-70’s, a picture perfect fall day for Lauren & Tim.
Tim and his groomsmen got ready right down the street at the The Westin Waltham Boston, while Lauren and her bride tribe were on property to get dressed and ready for photos. When Tim arrived mid-afternoon, Ewerton & Naglia from Decastro Photo captured their first look. I must admit, I was a little teary as Tim turned to watch Lauren walk down the stairs. After a few special moments together, the bridal party and family ventured outside for more photos before returning to the house as guests started arriving.
At precisely 4:00pm, Lauren (on the arm of her father Lou), crying and laughing at the same time, made her way towards her forever. Tim’s friend Andrew officiated the ceremony which included many personal touches. My favorite part was when Andrew said that the day he met Tim he knew he would marry him one day – boy was he right! My laughter didn’t last long as I was (again!) wiping away tears when during Tim’s vows he mentioned that he knew Lauren was the one because she was the first girl her ever put first. Have I mentioned yet that I love these two!?!? Lauren & Tim said "I Do" under a beautiful arbor decorated by Lauren’s friend Heather. As Lauren & Tim were pronounced husband and wife, guests erupted into applause.
As guests mingled on the porch during cocktail hour enjoying food & beverages provided by Stoked Pizza, Lauren’s brother Jake had the crowd rocking along as he jammed away on his guitar. A highlight for everyone was when Lauren’s Dad Lou joined him to belt out ‘Brown Eyed Girl’. Family is everything, and this family certainly does it right.
Meanwhile, the finishing touches were being seen to in the reception space. Everything under the tent looked amazing! Lauren’s Mom Julie is beyond talented and handmade so many of the little details including the seating chart, table numbers, and the ‘to die for’ charcuterie display!
The party officially got started when Soundz Unique Entertainment played the first notes of the intro music. The newlyweds (with huge smiles on their faces) entered the tent to thunderous applause! After a touching speech by Lauren’s Dad Lou, Lauren & Tim shared their first dance as well as dances with their parents before the bridal party stepped up to toast the happy couple. I’ve heard a lot of toasts in my day, but Tim’s brother Chris killed it when he told throwback stories about Tim, complete with props!
With guests still laughing, the pizza buffet was officially opened and guests dined at their leisure before filling the dance floor for the rest of the evening. The artful display of donuts from Union Square Donuts didn’t stand a chance – how could you pass up on dessert when flavors such as raspberry lime rickey, belgian dark chocolate, and bourbon caramel were up for grabs?!?! Lauren & Tim have an amazing group of family and friends and they celebrated with them until the final song faded out and the lights came on.
Lauren & Tim – I hope life continues to take you on amazing adventures together! I loved getting to know you and it was my pleasure to be a small part of your day. To quote your Dad, “May the rest of your life be the best of your life”. Wishing you much love & happiness. xo
